Coghlan Accounting is a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. This means that we have been tested and Certified by QuickBooks to help you set up your QuickBooks system, modify the QuickBooks you are already using, or recommend the best version of QuickBooks for your business.

We’ve had over 15 years experience with QuickBooks, and recommend it for most businesses. It is an easy system to learn, and easy to adjust when mistakes happen. Tax Preparers love to see QuickBooks in use because it is so easy to find and diagnosis errors, saving the Tax Preparer time, and the client money.

The biggest mistake that can be made by a business with QuickBooks is in the set up of the system. With our 30 years Bookkeeping/ Accounting experience, along with being a QuickBooks Pro Advisor, your system will be set up properly the first time. We will also, upon request, develop procedure manuals for the various tasks, so that the staff has a place to go for questions and the training of new personnel on the system will go more smoothly.

Our policy is to assess your business needs and then design a system that will work with and for you. We set up the system, and then work with who ever will be inputting the information. We start with same tasks and build up from there. We give you the opportunity to eventually take over everything your staff can handle and will be there for those items that can’t be completed by your staff. Many clients opt for us to return every three months to do a checkup on their system. This saves them headaches when problems go unchecked.

Payroll is another area we can help. Some clients don’t want the expense of a Payroll Module included in their QuickBooks program, but still want to write the checks themselves. We offer after the fact payroll processing for all Payroll Returns, 1099-MISC, and year-end W-2’s and W-3. This way the client only needs our services quarterly.

Bank Reconciliations can be tricky, and we offer QuickBooks reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, or even yearly basis. Keeping accurate records will cut down on fees and help prevent non-authorized withdrawals or errors.
